Light, not violence

Anyone can face violence and everyone who is assaulted or abused is entitled to the help and support they need. Especially women who are at a higher risk of various forms of violence need help and support. For example, women who actively use drugs may experience violence on a daily basis. Everyone who experiences violence has their own story, whether they are homeless, young, elderly, disabled, have an immigrant background, belong to a sexual minority or something else. Violence is never their fault. Everyone has a right to support.

The Light, not Violence campaign is organised by The Finnish National Observatory on Violence against Women. The annual campaign takes place on the 25th of November on the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

This year the campaign is coordinated by Naisten Linja / Women’s Line and Exit Prostitution Association’s Project
Usva.
